Y. Allen Kim, CFA

Allen Kim is the Director, Investment Strategy Group at Bel Air Investment Advisors and is a voting member of the Investment Committee. He oversees the investment manager platform at Bel Air and provides asset class research. Allen’s responsibilities also include setting manager research guidelines and providing advisor education and research communications.

Allen has over two decades of experience in the investment management industry. Before joining Bel Air in 2022, Allen was Director of Manager Research and Investment Solutions and a member of the Investment Committee at Kayne Anderson Rudnick, where he oversaw the investment platform for the Wealth Advisory division. He has also worked in numerous roles at Savos Investments (formerly Genworth Financial Asset Management) and Cetera Financial Group (formerly ING).

Allen earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from The George Washington University and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University. He is a CFA charterholder and chairs the Alternative Investments Advisory Council of the CFA Society of Los Angeles. He and his wife reside in the Los Angeles area and volunteer with The Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association of America.
