David joined Bel Air Investment Advisors in 2006. He is responsible for advising individuals, families, endowments, and foundations. He also chairs the firm’s Management Committee, oversees the firm’s day-to-day operations, and is a voting member of the Investment Committee.
David is actively involved in the leadership of several charities. He is the chair of the Cedars-Sinai Board of Governors, which recently launched a $50 million campaign focused on uncovering the genomic profile of illnesses and developing personalized treatments for some of the most challenging diseases. He is also an officer and trustee of the Buckley School, the oldest K-12 independent co-educational day school in Los Angeles, and a trustee and chair of the investment committee of Temple Israel of Hollywood. He previously was a Geller Fellow at the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles and a board member of Terror Free Tomorrow, a Washington-DC-based non-profit organization that researched and advised on practical solutions to extremism world-wide.
Before joining Bel Air, David was senior counsel to Rep. Henry A. Waxman and executive director of his political action committee, L.A. PAC. He previously served as counsel to the House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform in Washington, D.C., and is admitted to the California bar.
David earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1994. While at Harvard, David was a teaching fellow in economics and was recognized with the Outstanding Teaching Fellow award. David received his B.S. in Economics with highest honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
